Jack Skellington

Yes, I didn't plan on posting today but I won't be going out tonight. My son is with his grandparents and they don't celebrate Halloween. But I told my son that I would send a letter to Jack Skellington telling him that my son couldn't go out and Trick or Treat. Jack will be leaving him a pumpkin of candy.

So due to the fact that I am at home not doing anything I decided to post a video by Madeyewlook of a Jack/Sally tutorial.

Have a Happy Halloween!!

Slender Man

I will not be posting tomorrow (that I know of) and I will be bringing you the creepiest legend out there. Slender Man! I think he is the scariest, creepiest legend/monster that you could dress up as. The history of Slender Man does not go back very far (2009) and already truly despicable things have been done in his name. The worst being the devil but since the devil has been so commercialized Slender Man comes to the top of the list. Now I know he isn't a legend but due to what people have done in his name I know he will become one of the new legends to tell around a camp fire.

Slender Man started on a COMEDY web forum. Yes comedy.

What Wikipedia had to say about Slender Man: The Slender Man (also known as Slenderman) is a fictional supernatural character that originated as an Internet meme created by Something Awful forums user Eric Knudsen (a.k.a. "Victor Surge") in 2009. It is depicted as resembling a thin, unnaturally tall man with a blank and usually featureless face, wearing a black suit.

Stories of the Slender Man commonly feature him stalking, abducting or traumatizing people, particularly children.[1] The Slender Man is not confined to a single narrative, but appears in many disparate works of fiction, mostly composed online.[2] Fiction relating to the Slender Man encompasses many media, including literature, art and video series such as Marble Hornets. Outside of online fiction, the Slender Man has had impact on popular culture, having been referenced in the video game Minecraft and generated video games of his own, such as Slender: The Eight Pages and Slender: The Arrival.

You can go to the Slender Man Wikipedia page to read more on Slender Man.

I went looking for the original Slender Man story and came across this: The complete, terrifying history of Slender Man

I remember hearing on the news about the two girls stabbing their friend because 'We wanted to prove the skeptics wrong.' Once again making me wonder about my theory (yes it is in Supernatural) that if you believe in something enough you could bring it to life. The theory is valid not completely logical but valid. Now for a Slender Man makeup tutorial!

It was a big toss up about which Slender Man tutorial I liked the most. It came down to Pinkstylist's and Silvia Quiros. Silvia Quiros won. I love both tutorials but I think that Silvia's version of Slender Man is scarier.

FYI My computer was glitching the entire time I was researching Slender Man.

Have A Happy Halloween!

Illidan Stormrage

I was scrolling through my video suggestions and found this beautiful video. Jordan Hanz was one of the participants of the NYX Face Awards. I believe she made it to the Top 11. I am a huge WoW fan and love playing so I just couldn't pass this up. I'm sorry if my posts are kind of short I haven't been feeling the greatest. I have caught the retched change of season cold.

I hope you all have a Happy Halloween!

Crimson Peak

This is one of the last posts for Halloween. But don't worry I have something planned for next month. Mwahahahaha!!! Should you be afraid? I don't know. Have you realized I am completely insane yet?

Today's post was a tough one because I found a video on how to do a candy corn demon and I HATE candy corn. But I am going for scary and this wasn't really scary.

I am sure some of you have heard of or gotten to watch Crimson Peak and I can say that I really want to watch it, like REALLY want to. But alas life is cruel and I don't get to. My budget says you either watch it or you won't have enough for all the food that you need to bring in to last til your next paycheck.

Today's video is brought to you by GoldieStarling. She has many awesome videos that you could do for Halloween or any time of the year because come on who wants to dress up only during the month of October?

I hope you enjoy the video and know that I am envious if you have already gotten to watch the movie.

Yautja

I came across this awesome tutorial from Ellimacs. If you are a Predator lover like I am then you will appreciate this. Elli always makes affordable costumes. I hope that they do one for the Alien xenomorphs.

I did some snooping around and found out that they will be doing a sequel to Predators. So not only would this make a snazzy Halloween costume it would be an awesome cosplay. Though I can't wait for 2017 because not one but two Alien movies will be coming out. Aliens 5 and Aliens: Lost Paradise. I'm sure there are people out there that hate the movies because it doesn't follow the comics/books. I haven't read any of them so to me the movies are amazing.

Anyway I hope you enjoy this tutorial. If you like her tutorials I highly suggest you check out her channel. She has many amazing tutorials.

Back to Basics

Today we are going back to a basic costume. This is a video I found on YouTube to do my wonderful NoV-X makeup. I planned to use this tutorial along with a few others to make my wonderful zombie. Emma Pickles made this video along with a few others I found amazing, like Fornicus from Cabin in the Woods, and Black Ops 2 Zombie Makeup Transformation. You do have to look for these videos among her regular makeup videos but they are well worth the search.

Until Dawn

I found today's makeup tutorial and then had to go look up the game it is based on. I have decided that this game would be the death of me. Or possibly the one that draws me so far into it I forget I have a job, child... life. FYI if you look up Until Dawn on YouTube I suggest watching the Honest Game Trailers vid. It looks like an awesome game but alas I do not have a PS4 or anything like that. I have my wondrous computer and a dying Xbox 360. Though I think I am going to be getting myself an Xbox One for Christmas... Moving on. Until Dawn drew me in and now I serious want to play it. But I found this lovely gem that you could possibly dress as.

Madeyewlook has done this video. She has a slew of awesome videos to check out.

Pennywise

I think I have fallen in love with Pinkstylist... At least his tutorials. When I go looking for a tutorial he usually has what I am looking for. I came across his tutorial for Pennywise and since I know several people who are deathly afraid of clowns I figured this would be an awesome costume.

I love the movie It and it is on my list of movies that freak me out but my love runs deep for Tim Curry, the Master of Villains. I am a little bit skeptical about the remake but I will give it a chance, especially if what I am hearing is true and that they are making it more like the book, which is also awesome.

Movies To Watch

How many of you have watched scary stories with all the lights out and all alone in the house? Most of you? Here is a list of the scary movies I watched alone with the lights out that creeped me the fuck out.

  1. Evil Dead - 1981
  2. The Exorcist - 1973
  3. Halloween - 1978
  4. The Shining - 1980
  5. Poltergeist - 1982
  6. The Omen - 1976
  7. Friday the 13th - 1980
  8. Insidious - 2010
  9. Unborn - 2009 (I was pregnant when I watched this movie. Scared the shit out of me.)
  10. It - 1990
  11. Jaws - 1975
Yes, Jaws freaks me out now. When I was younger I loved the movie but since I have developed Thalassophobia I have issues watching it. I can't even go swimming in lakes or rivers because of my fear. I don't think it is a fear of the sea but more Galeophobia, a fear of sharks. Think it's funny? Look up how far a Bull shark has been found inland. But the thought of swimming where me or my son could potentially be a victim sends me into a cold sweat.

The Boogieman

Have any of you ever been afraid of the Boogieman? My son has an ungodly fear of the man in the closet. The closet door has to be closed and I have to be in the room with him. No one has ever told him about the Boogieman but even though he is considered a 'mythical creature' one has to wonder if this entity has been brought to life by the collective fear of children from around the world.

Wikipedia had this to say about the Boogieman: Bogeyman (also spelled bogieman, boogeyman, or boogie man, and pronounced /bʊɡimæn/ or /boʊɡimæn/; see spelling differences)[1] is a common allusion to a mythical creature in many cultures used by adults or older children to frighten bad children into good behavior. This monster has no specific appearance, and conceptions about it can vary drastically from household to household within the same community; in many cases, he has no set appearance in the mind of an adult or child, but is simply a non-specific embodiment of terror. Parents may tell their children that if they misbehave, the bogeyman will get them. Bogeymen may target a specific mischief—for instance, a bogeyman that punishes children who suck their thumbs—or general misbehaviour, depending on what purpose needs serving. In some cases, the bogeyman is a nickname for the devil. Bogeyman tales vary by region. The bogeyman is usually a masculine entity but can be any gender or simply androgynous.

Monster Wikia had this: The typical Boogeyman legend states that its favorite places to hide are under beds and in closets, particularly in the bedrooms of children who are 'naughty' or have acted in a way to gain disapproval from their parent(s). The Boogeyman is nocturnal, typically only visiting its victims after midnight. According to all accounts, the Boogeyman is malevolent in nature, with its name often used synonymously with something or someone that is frightening.

The Boogeyman feeds off fear, particularly the fear of children, though under certain circumstances an adult may attract the Boogeyman themselves by chanelling their inner-child. An adult who has had traumatic experiences with the entity as a child will be more likely to attract it again.

The Boogeyman is an amorphous being, having no particular shape or form. The appearance of the dark entity may differ from one child to the next, often shaping itself around the child's deepest fears. The being often appears as a pale humanoid with either red or yellow eyes, sharp teeth and claws. It may, however, appear to some as a mass of penises, as a clown, or as someone with whom the child associates horrific memories or trauma.

The Boogeyman, a being that feeds of fear, will, like a stray dog, not stick around those who are not feeding it. Don't fear the Boogeyman, and it will leave. This is easier said than done for most, but if you close your eyes and recite the following verses, the Boogeyman may very well be dispelled.

"I'm not afraid of the Thing in my closet, or the monster under my bed.

No, I'm not afraid of the Boogeyman, I know he's in my head."

If ever you should feel the presence of the Boogeyman in your room at night, simply flick the light switch on and call for your parents, if available. It is unknown whether the light hurts or frightens the Boogeyman, but it is a well known fact that the entity does not like to be seen clearly or by those who are not so easily frightened.

Furthermore, it is also very important to keep your feet under the covers at all times to eliminate all possibility of the Boogeyman's long, icy fingers tickling your toes. Horror author Stephen King once described bed sheets as "Boogeyman kryptonite." Should the situation escalate to the point where the Boogeyman approaches you, emerging yourself completely under the sheets will likely protect you from the dark being, but you must believe that it will.

However, the best method of protection is to obey your parents and behave. In most versions of the tale, the Boogeyman hunts down children who do not behave, usually ones who do not go to bed when they are told. Like most evil beings, prayer and holy objects may be used to ward one off (though if you are religious enough to utilize this, it is very unlikely it will prey on you).

Don't forget to check under the bed and in the closet before turning in for the night. You never know who, or what, might be waiting there.

I was never afraid of the monster in the closet or under the bed but under the monster under the basement stairs always terrified me. Each child's fear is different. I always kept the monster away by taking my bear with me but my son is a trooper. He refuses to use a bear but has to have me in there. Things have gotten better since I told him that if any monster hurt him I would kick their ass but that's my method of fighting the Boogieman.

October is Here!!

Now that October has finally come I will be doing not only videos on costumes but tricks/pranks, horror stories, and hauntings! Me personally, I love the witch stories. But then I am one. Not one of those ones where water melts me or I get horribly pranked by some kids to look in the oven. I'm one of those witches that you won't realize I am one until it is too late.

So for today's blog post I will be posting a witch makeup tutorial. Ellimacs SFX Makeup on Youtube brings us this video and yes I know it isn't an apple she is holding but a red bell pepper.
